The King Fell On His Funny Face

Erik B. Anderson Learns Hard Lessons

Hackettstown Hospital - Feb. 6, 2010 - The King of Funny Faces was riding his bicycle on Willow Grove Street at approximately 6 PM today when a combination of ice, snow, excess salt and a poorly paved sidewalk caused him to tumble into the street face first.

He had only recently learned that it is illegal to ride your bicycle on the sidewalk in Hackettstown, where there are no bike paths. The lesson was reinforced to him when he hit his nose rather hard. He had lacerations on his nose, chin, his upper lip and a bruise on his right knee. There were cars driving past. No one stopped. He was disoriented for a few moments. He rode his bike to the Hospital which was about seven blocks away. He was disoriented for the rest of the evening.

He was on his way to Mansfield to go shopping. He had hoped to see the roots band The Holmes Brothers at Centenary College that evening. Instead, he spent Saturday night in the hospital, again. Bummer.
